New wrist gestures are coming with the current update of Android Wear 1.4 as the latest control features for the smartwatches with the current OS.
These features of Android Wear 1.4 consist of controls for swiping from left to right, for choosing an option as well as for returning to its watch face. People who prefer the use of their one hand only in getting an access to some programs are mostly the ones who will benefit from these, PC Mag reported.
According to Android Wear's official blog, the smartwatch users can use their device to get and send messages, receive replies from Google, run the apps that they like and even track fitness, once their phone and watch are linked to a network.
However, this wrist gestures addition is going to consume a notable amount of battery life. This is why the users are given the choice to disable the feature if needed. Yet, the performance of the smartwatch is not going to be affected by these added wrist gestures, Slash Gear shared.
To see more information on a specific action, the user must hold his arm in the front, push down it down fast, and return the arm to its normal position. In the selection of the initial action, the user must push down for the second time. Apps menu can be accessed by using the similar gesture on the face screen.
Google says that this wrist gestures have been tried and used to provide an outstanding experience to the users while using the feature.
Another set of changes which have been brought by Android Wear 1.4 upgrade is the cellular connectivity support. This will let the smartwatches to immediately get connected to cell data while the watch moves farther than the WiFi or Bluetooth range.
