‘Fallout 4’ News and Updates: Bethesda Says Using PC Console Commands May Mess Up Saved Games

Bethesda Softworks, the publisher of "Fallout 4," warned "Fallout" players against using console commands on the game's PC version.

"Fallout 4" players are using console commands to discover a secret developer room and a harpoon-style gun. Pete Hines, Bethesda's marketing manager, replied directly with a "Nope" when asked by a fan on Twitter if console commands will be available someday.

Hines said, "Use of the console is not supported or recommended on PC," and added "that kind of thing isn't permitted on consoles anyway."

Another fan asked why the use of console commands is not recommended, to which Hines replied, "Can very easily mess up save games." Saved games being messed up could be a potential problem because "Fallout 4" is a huge game.

Earlier this month, "Fallout 4" was launched across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Bethesda shipped 12 million copies on its launch day, as reported by Gamespot, but there were no reports on how many copies were sold to consumers. "Fallout 4's" popularity is said to be on the rise now, and one proof is that it's breaking Steam current player records.

The arrival of the first patches of "Fallout 4" in beta for PC is reportedly next week. Tom Howard, executive producer and game director at Bethesda Softworks, debuted the latest hit installment of the post-apocalyptic RPG.

Meanwhile, Express reported that the game developers managed to change the Napoleon's portrait with the face of the executive producer and game director of Bethesda Softworks, Todd Howard. This was discovered by a gamer who then asked Hines in a tweet, "Is Todd aware that somebody on his design team put a painting of him dressed as Napoleon in Fallout 4?"

"Get out. Really?" Hines replied.

The Napoleon on Horseback can be seen in The Dugout Inn, in Diamond City. The picture can be seen upon entering one of the rooms on the left.
