5 Habits of Small Space Dwellers For A Happier Home

Keeping a clean and tidy home takes following strict everyday habits to avoid clutter and dust bunnies from accumulating; but this is especially challenging in small homes.

Here are 5 habits of small space dwellers for a happier home according to Apartment Therapy:

Straighten as you go

Make it a habit and there shouldn't be a need for you to spend hours and hours scouring and putting things back to their place. You don't even need to allot a special time for this; just do it as you walk around your home. You can even do some straightening when you are gabbing on the phone.

Put your coat and bag away as soon as you get home

No matter how long your day was, avoid draping your coat to the couch or dropping your bag on the table. It's easy to get a small space look and feel cluttered and those are some habits you can get used to that will make your space look and feel messy.

Breakdown unwanted cardboard boxes

Seriously, why do we keep all those boxes of cardboard as if we're running a moving company? Instead of piling them up in the storage and eat up precious space, just take them to the recycle as soon as possible.

Cook from your pantry

We all have these habits: cooking half of the pack of pasta and leave the remaining half in the pantry and don't touch them ever again, or buying certain ingredients like a can of beans for a certain recipe yet we never get to cook them. If you don't make the habit of using things you have in your cabinets, you will end up with a complete jumble.

Put your clothes away each night before bed

If you can't find this certain shirt, then you probably have it in one of the piles of dirty clothes in your bed, the chair, or the floor. Don't make it easy for you to throw your clothes in a certain pile by having none. Put them away every before you jump to bed.
