Retail real estate owners and developers, EDENS, has announced today the details of their 4th annual retail challenge that will be joined by college students from the nation's top universities.
According to their press release in PR Newswire, the participating universities include Georgetown, UVA, University of Pennsylvania, and many more. Chosen concepts from the universities will compete in the regionals in January. During the regionals, three retail concepts will be chosen by the panel that will be composed of industry experts.
For the first time, the 4th Annual EDENS Retail Challenge will culminate with a final presentation from the three top retail contenders in the famed Union Market in Washington D.C. on March 3 and 4 next year.
Past winners of the EDENS Retail Challenge such as Tara Foley of Follain and Alex Lowe, Elvis Lieban and James Gutierrez of Artis, are now having their own successful operating retails throughout the country.
"It was the spark that brought our business to life. The preparation and feedback from the participation brought our business from a rough idea into a strong, viable business," said EDENS Retail Challenge Winner, Alex Lowe. "We met our key advisors through the competition, all of whom are still involved in the business today. Also the credibility of winning the competition was a key part of our ability to raise over $3M dollars."
"At the EDENS Retail Challenge, I developed meaningful relationships with incredibly impressive and innovative retail experts. Three years later, these experts are still some of my greatest mentors and friends," said Tara Foley, Founder of Retail Challenge Winner, Follain. "The people were the best part of the retail challenge."
