Justin Bieber is definitely making waves before 2015 ends. He is grabbing the headlines in the recent months after releasing his albums and tracks. Most recently, he talked about his greatest love, Selena Gomez, which is stirring more rumors. However, this time, Bieber is getting all attention to his newest Billboard 200 record, beating One Direction in the no#1 slot. Was Gomez, her inspiration?
Bieber made tongues wagging after he landed on top of Billboard's 200 with his latest album, "Purpose," surpassing One Direction's album, "Made in the A.M." This week was marked as the most successful week of his entire career when he scored 649,000 album units sold while selling 522,000 units in actual sales since his album was launched, according to Daily Mail. It's not all for the Calvin Klein model as he sets a new record breaking number in Billboard 200 chart.
'"Purpose" is the entertainer's fifth straight set to open at No. 1, following Believe: Acoustic (in 2013), Believe (2012), Under the Mistletoe (2011) and Never Say Never: The Remixes (EP) (2011)," Billboard reports. "Behind Bieber on the new Billboard 200 is the also-arriving One Direction, which launches at No. 2 with "Made In the A.M." (459,000 units; 402,000 in pure album sales)."
It was Bieber's sixth time to land on the Billboard top chart. "Purpose" is now regarded as the biggest selling album since Taylor Swift's "1989." The new chart topper also ended the popular British boy band's straight record after their successful albums released in the past. 1D on the other hand led the UK Top 40 with 93,000 units leaving Bieber behind on the second position.
Meanwhile, with the "What Do You Mean" singer's successful career, people are asking whether his former flame had inspired him. According to Hollywood Life, although the ex couple didn't walk together at the 2015 AMAs, there's a high probability that they were together at his post-AMA gig at the Nice guy in Los Angeles. Prior to the event, they set off dating rumors again after they were spotted walking together along Beverly Hills.
Do you think Bieber's inspiration for his successful career was Gomez?
