‘Community’ star Danny Pudi buys Pasadena residence for $1.32 million

Danny Pudi, best known for playing "Abed Nadir" in the hit sitcom "Community," has reportedly purchased the Pasadena, Calif., home of Olympic swimmer Betsy Mitchell for $1.32 million.

The Los Angeles Times broke news of the sale. Public records of the residence state that the home last sold for $1.2 million in 2011.

The residence is a 3,700-square-foot, single-family home built in 1925. Although the home has been renovated a few times, the original architecture of the time has been preserved. Comprised of six bedrooms and three full and one half bathrooms, the home has French doors and windows with barrel ceilings and red-tiled and hardwood flooring.

Inside, the home has a formal living area, a separate dining place, family rooms and a remodeled kitchen fitted with modern appliances. Outside, the home has a large courtyard, sitting areas, a spa and a shower.

Maggie Navarro of Teles Properties represented the property.

"This 1925 classic has a modern twist, proving that good design is timeless, elegant and comfortable," the listing reads. "Located in Pasadena's prestigious Caltech and Huntington Library neighborhood, the original detail and character are enhanced by the updated kitchen, dual zone heat and central air conditioning, copper plumbing, tankless water heater and updated baths."

Before landing a role in "Community," Pudi was known for his short recurring roles in "Gilmore Girls" and "Greek."

His character Abed's deep knowledge of TV has been loved and hailed by all, including the critics. But in real life, is Pudi really that savvy?

Speaking to the A.V Club in an interview, Pudi said:

"It varies. Certain episodes, I feel like I really get it, like this episode, 'cause it's Aliens. Great movie. I mean, Dan and the writers are geniuses at putting stuff in, so I'm always like, 'Oh crap, what does this reference, and what does this reference?' There's a couple episodes where it was Indiana Jones. Those are the ones that I definitely get. A lot of them, I get, but in this one, my homework right away was 'Okay, I gotta rent Aliens again and rewatch it.' Netflix queue. We watched Dawn Of The Dead in the [cast] trailers again, just to kind of refresh."
