Duggar Family Causes TLC to Lose Sponsors, More Than 760 Companies Boycott the Channel

The Duggars are making a television comeback with "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," a three-part special airing in December on TLC. The special is a spin-off to the family's former reality show, "19 Kids and Counting," which was cancelled early this year due to the family's sex scandals involving eldest son Josh.

"From a time of turmoil to a time of celebration," TLC teased on the show's official Facebook Page. Producers have previously stated that "Counting On" will focus on the younger Duggar sisters, Jill and Jessa, and show how they use their painful past to celebrate their recent milestones.

However, a certain group in Facebook is making an effort to thwart the Duggars' celebration. Called "#No More Duggars," the group now has over 1,000 members and is reaching out to sponsors to boycott TLC and its mother network, Discovery.

According to Star Pulse, the group has convinced over 760 companies not to advertise during any Duggar-related show. Brands reportedly include K-Mart, Hershey's, Pepsi, McDonald's and Fisher-Price.

In addition, the group is running a campaign for viewers to boycott "Counting On" and all Discovery Network shows during the show's timeslot.

Since its posting last Saturday, Nov. 21, hundreds of viewers have already "liked" the petition.

"I have already started to boycott, I am tired of hearing these scammers. Jim Bob and his pathetic wife have no say period nor should they have a voice," one viewer commented.

"I refuse to watch TLC and boycotting the Discovery channel. I will not raise my kids to think Incest, cheating, scamming for money without having to work, Quiverful Cult, Poligamy [sic], girls/women raised for the sole purpose to breed like rabbits. TLC should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this dimwit family and all they preach," wrote another.

Josh's molestation and cheating scandals are not the only issues that have rocked the Duggar family. Previous reports have surfaced that Jill and husband Derick Dillard, who are Christian missionaries, are running a fraudulent ministry. Because of these persistent issues, their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle have recently been taken out among the roster of spearkers in a national homeschooling convention.

Though TLC continues to promote "Counting On," the anti-Duggars group is hoping that their message gets across. However, there are still plenty of fans who support the embattled family.

"Only a three part event? I was hoping for a series," one fan wrote on TLC's Facebook page.

Another wrote, "Looking forward to hearing from Anna. So excited for the show!"

"Jill and Jessa: Counting On" airs on Dec. 13, 20 and 27, 8 p.m. on TLC.
