The upcoming anime adaptation of "Phantasy Star Online 2" has released its 2nd promotional video. It has also been revealed that the premiere date of the series will be on Jan. 7, 2016.
Anime News Network reports that the official portal of "Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation" has already disclosed to the fans its 2nd teaser video. In addition to the promo video, the upcoming anime series has also released its new visual.
ANN says that the anime series will have its premiere date on Jan. 7, 2016 through TBS station at 1:46 a.m. Then it will have its regular run with other TV networks like CBC, MBS, and BS-TBS channels. Reports state that there will be a "special pre-broadcast talk show with Aoi, the director, and the producers will screen the first episode at Tokyo's Theatre Shinjuku on Dec. 29."
According to its director, the "Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation" will definitely have a totally original story. But it is granted also that the "story will follow PSO2 players 'who may be near you' on Earth in the near future."
According to Fandom Post, the "Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation's" roster of the main cast includes the names of Mao Ichimichi as Aika, Ayaka Suwa as Rina, Shouta Aoi as Itsuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Kouta Kayano, Takuya Satou as Masaya Kudou, Rie Murakawa as Mika Konoe, Aki Kanada as Yutaka Sasaki, Shun Horie as Seiya Urisaka, Minami Kabayama as Mayu Urisaka, and Tessyo Genda as SORO.
The site also revealed the performer of the theme song of the "PSO2" anime series. It says that Shouta Aoi is the artist singing in the promotional video. As noted, the anime series will be under the production of Telecom Animation Film, and it will be helmed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi. The character design of "Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation" will be handled by Miyako Takasu.
Reports also mention that the anime adaptation of "Phantasy Star Online 2" marks the 8th project of Sega. This is in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the PSO franchise.
