Taylor Swift mystery buyer behind Peter Jackson’s Tribeca Apartment?

Taylor Swift could be the buyer of "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson's Tribeca penthouse complex, rumor has it.

Jackson's Tribeca pad went under escrow early February. It was widely reportedly that one buyer purchased both penthouse complexes that Jackson first listed for $21.5 million in June 2013. However, details about the price and the buyer remained a mystery.

The Real Estalker is now reporting that the "Love Story" singer could be the buyer, citing several "circumstantial evidences" collected from trusted sources. The blog explains that Swift was seen house hunting in the Manhattan area early in January. Fast forward to just a week ago, she was seen shopping for art and craft supplies in SoHo and going in and out of the building atop which Jackson's two penthouse apartments perch.

However, the blog also speculates that she could be renting another apartment in the same building.

Either way, Taylor Swift has quite a real estate portfolio, including a Rhode Island mansion, a penthouse in Nashville and a home in Beverly Hills.

The properties at 155 Franklin Street were purchased by Jackson in 2008 for $17.3 million, making it one of the most expensive deals of the neighborhood at that time. He reportedly had plans of combining the two lofts but never did.

After failing to sell in the initial few months, the listing was given a price cut to $19.9 million in November 2013. Then in December, the two apartments were listed separately, with the larger one asking $14.5 million and the smaller $5.1 million.

According to the listing records at StreetEasy, the larger property is a 5,650-square-foot unit comprised of six bedrooms and five full and one half bathrooms. There is a grand foyer, more than 1,200 square feet of combined dining and living space, a stair hall and a wet bar.

The smaller unit is a 2,368-square-foot, three-bedroom, two and a half-bathroom apartment comprised of a private roof terrace and brick-exposed interiors.

Both the units have hardwood flooring, French doors and wood-beamed exposed ceilings.
