"Sister Wives" star Meri Brown was recently slammed by fans who believe that she was consensually catfished by a woman who posed as a man.
On Sunday night, TLC aired a special "Tell All" episode for the series that showed Meri telling her sisters Christine, Robyn and Janelle, and polygamist ex-husband Kody that she had an online relationship with a catfisher.
However, Meri's confession drew a slew of mixed reactions from fans.
One of them wrote on Design N Trend's website, "Meri had this whole thing planned out in her head. That's why she was willing to divorce Kody. She planned on a life with this new man but it all fell through. If these women were honest they would say NONE of them are really happy. Meri has always been the sneaky one and she is lying NOW."
Meanwhile, another fan @Martha Ruggieri expressed her compassion for Meri and what has happened to her recently.
"I feel so bad for Meri. If Kody really loved her, he would of got up and sat down next to her? That's the difference between monogamy and polygamy! If she was the only wife, he would care. But he doesn't. Because there is always another wife to have a better day with??" she wrote.
In other news, Meri's entire family told them that they will be supporting her throughout her recent ordeal.
On Twitter, Robyn wrote, "It's good to have @MeriBrown1 back to her old self. She is stronger than ever & isn't letting this stupid thing beat her. #inthistogether."
Kody tweeted, "We will keep our family together with LOVE and solidarity!"
In a previous tweet Kody wrote, "I hate it when people try to break up our family. So villainous and cruel... lacks character, understanding and foresight. #SisterWives."
"Sister Wives" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
