Tom Hardy on Playing the Kray Brothers in 'Legend' - "Reggie was Harder"

Tom Hardy recently revealed a surprising trivia about his "Legend" role.

Many have heard that Tom Hardy's acting in his latest movie "Legend" was extraordinarily twice the fun to watch. The movie "Legend" follows the life of identical twin gangsters Reggie and Ronnie Kray, who were among the most infamous criminals in British history. The movie was released in theaters in the USA on Nov. 20.

Tom Hardy played as both Reggie and Ronnie Kray. Both were psychopaths. In a recent interview, Hardy revealed which Kray twin was the hardest to play. In an interview detailed in the Chicago Sun Times, Hardy revealed that it was more challenging to play Reggie as he was actually more stable than his twin, Ronnie.

He said in the interview, "Reggie was harder for me to play initially, because until you get to the end of the film -- for the first two-thirds of the movie. Reggie is a straight romantic lead in some aspects." On the other hand, speaking about playing the role of Reggie's twin, he said, "As for Ron, I much preferred to play him. He was a total nightmare of a man, but as an actor, those kinds of crazy, over-the-top characters are so much fun to play. No, the subtler tones of Reggie was more challenging for me."

According to EW, Tom Hardy had to call on the help of "Mad Max: Fury Road" stunt-double Jacob Tomuri for the "Legend" fight scenes because he is very proud of him. "I put poor old Jacob in the s-t, actually. I threw him under the bus at the beginning. He got thrown under a bus literally on 'Fury Road' and then he got thrown under a bus again on the Krays," Hardy told EW.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, both Ronnie and Reggie were well-known amateur boxers, and Tom was aware of that. So the fight scenes must have been hard for the actor.

"Legend" was directed by Brian Helgeland. Emily Browning and Taron Egerton also starred in the film with Tom Hardy.
