'Attack on Titan' News: Do Junior High Episode 8 and Manga Chapter 8 Share the Same Fate in Ratings?

"Attack on Titan" manga is pretty different from the "Attack on Titan Junior High." The latter is a parody of the "AoT" manga of Hajime Isayama. "Junior High" is an anime adaptation of the comedy spin-off manga written and illustrated by Saki Nakagawa.

These two literary series may have shared the title and characters, but the plot definitely differs. Nevertheless, it has been noted that the two "AoT" series have not met the expectation of the critics, and are simply rated satisfactorily.

Anime News Network says that "Attack on Titan Junior High" episode 8 has only been rated with a grade of B+. Although the current episode was sort of "silly-scary with Halloween vibes totally different than anything we've seen so far." This was a good idea because fans would be able to see the "different side of personalities" of the characters.

However, ANN noted that episode 8 appeared ridiculous in a sense because it seemed like the scenes were repetitive of the previous installment. Why? It is because the story line in each episode was always "taken up by the freshmen encountering the upperclassmen's silly scares." And it has been stated that this story is not completely original because it is "taking their origins from Japanese ghost stories." However, it can't be denied that some of the scenes are absolutely amusing and comical.

As for the "Attack on Titan" manga series #8, Fandom Post gives the chapter a B+ rating. This is probably because there are so many loose ends that are not clear in the narrative.

It is understood that in chapter 8 of "Attack on Titan" manga series, "the conspiracy is far greater than any of the survey corps could imagine." So there are a lot of things that would take place in the story, thus its development is very rich and perhaps there are a lot of things to cover.

Yes, the moment of truth has been revealed concerning the identity of the female titan. Though it may be obvious to its readers, it's no other than Annie Leonhart. Thanks to Armin who led her to the trap and her identity got busted. This coming out of Annie resulted to a fight with Eren in his titan form.

But the bottom line of the review is that the critic felt that despite this, several questions were answered in this chapter, but the "reasoning behind the answers is still unclear."
