"Outlander" Season 2 will introduce a new young actor to the hit series. Meanwhile, a tear-jerking episode will be included in the upcoming season as teased by a series regular.
Oscar Kennedy, 16 years old, officially joins the cast of "Outlander" Season 2 to play the role of young John William Grey. Kennedy's character will be like the one in the novel series of Diana Gabaldon for the book entitled, "Dragonfly in Amber," Spoiler TV reported.
Young John Grey will think that Claire Fraser (Catriona Balfe) is a captive by Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and would attempt to free her. He will also go head to head against Jamie in one of the episodes. Other scenes that Kennedy is involved are yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Graham McTavish who plays the character of Dougal MacKenzie teased that there will be a very sad episode in "Outlander" Season 2, Scotland Now reported.
MacKenzie has regular updates on his Twitter account for fans to know what is happening on the set. The 54-year-old Scottish actor tweeted, "Yesterday was messy, muddy madness, but really great. @Outlander_Starz As always, hats off to our fantastic crew!"
Sam Heughan also shared in social media that they are filming a heartbreaking scene on the second book in Gabaldon's series. Heughan wrote on Twitter saying, "it has been a great week on set" where he got to work on very "tough scenes" which were filmed in "challenging conditions."
On the other hand, Executive Producer Maril Davis announced that they just marked the 300th day of filming the show last Oct. 29, Master Herald reported. This signifies that the production has been running for nearly a year already.
"Outlander" Season 2 will premiere around March 2016 exclusively on Starz. "Outlander" is an American-British TV drama series based on the series novel written by Diana Gabaldon and is developed by Ronald D. Moore.
