BB to Push the Shipping Dates of BlackBerry Priv Due to Increase in Demand

BlackBerry made a smart move when they launched the new BlackBerry Priv at the beginning of this month and joined the Android world.

On the first week of November, BlackBerry shipped the first pre-orders of this device. On the first day, AT&T availed this device in their stores. However, anyone who wants to get a new BlackBerry via the company's online store, will have to wait starting November 23.

Spokesman of BlackBerry said that the company has "begun fulfilling shipments from November 6, however, due to increased demand, we have decided to phase the shipments. This is slated for the next wave". The Canadian phone maker has ditched for the first time its long known BlackBerry operating system in favor of Android OS. BlackBerry Priv may not be the first and last adventure of BlackBerry in the Android world, according to the report of Neurogadget.

What's interesting for BlackBerry users about the smartphones is the QWERTY keyboard. Since the touchscreen took control of the mobile phones, BlackBerry seems to have found the right mix after Priv's attempt to adopt a touchscreen and physical QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry Priv has a huge 5.4 inch AMOLED screen with protection from Gorilla Glass 4. The screen's resolution is 1140 by 2560 pixels (541ppi). It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, a hexa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and an onboard storage space of 32GB. In case, you have plenty to store on the device, there is room for an SD card of up to 2TB. It is also equipped with a battery unit of 3,410mAh which can last an entire day.

Technrich said the new Android-powered BlackBerry Priv comes with a total new design which includes a sliding form factor. When the smartphone's huge 5.4 inch screen slides up, you will be left with the iconic keyboard that all devices of BlackBerry have been known and loved for.

The company expects to see more Android-powered BB devices coming out in 2016 and beyond.
