Scott Foley a cast of "Scandal" season 5 previously considered to be in the two most surprising twists on the fall finale episode on Thursday night.
Foley disclosed in an interview with TV Line, that Olivia Pope's abortion was not included in the original story.
The actor showed a screenplay for the said scene which only said that Olivia would be having a medical procedure done at a physician's clinic. At the same time, Foley also disclosed no one is aware that White House's Olivia would be undergoing abortion until she shoot her scene and the cast viewed on set, Design and Trend reported.
The actor further explained, "There were no gasps. It was just quiet. There were a lot of looks around. I think I was sitting next to Katie Lowes, and I might have put my hand on her back or shoulder or something. Because I don't know if everybody got it. But for me, it was glaringly apparent."
On the other news, Foley also disclosed that another dreadful twist on the series connected to Olivia, she will finally end her relationship with Pres. Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn).
Olivia moved into the White House to be with Pres. Fitz after he divorced wife Mellie (Bellamy Young), his former wife.
The "Scandal" season 5 cast applauded both actors during their final episode table read. Foley recounted that they were all so happy of how the scene applied thinking it was lessened to eight minutes.
Goldwyn and Washington's Olivia and Pres. Fitz characters threw rude words on set for about 22 minutes. Foley narrated, "They were 22 minutes long on this episode so the amount of material that was cut from this would blow your mind."
At the end of the fall finale episode, Olivia will be single again and viewers think that there is a possibility that she will reconcile with Jake Ballard.
"Scandal" season 5 will air again in ABC on Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. ET.
