Christina Aguilera and her film producer fiancé Matthew Rutler have confirmed that they are expecting a baby girl, reports JustJared.
The "Your Body" singer announced the exciting news following a performance at an event in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. Soon after the concert, the 33-year-old tweeted: "Ain't no other fans... Thank you Malaysia for all the love & support! XoXtina."
The singer was in Malaysia to perform a free concert that was cancelled earlier this week to pay respect to the victims of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared mysteriously early this month en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. Latest findings suggest that it crashed somewhere in the southern Indian Ocean.
Aguilera and Rutler first met while scoring the music for "Burlesque" in 2010. The couple announced their engagement in February this year after Rutler popped the question on Valentine's Day, reports the Los Angeles Times.
A week after their engagement, rumors began floating around that Aguilera was pregnant with her second child. However, neither the singer nor her fiancé confirmed the news.
In 2005, Aguilera married music marketer Jordan Bratman. Together the couple had now 6-year-old son Max Liron. However, the couple separated in 2010 and their divorce was settled a year later. As of now, they share custody of their son.
Aguilera came into the limelight following the release of a self-titled debut album in 1999. The album generated three No. 1 U.S. singles - "What a Girl Wants," "Genie in a Bottle," and "Come On Over Baby." Following her debut, she was accorded many pop culture titles, including "Princess of Pop," "Queen of Reinvention" and the "Voice of her Generation." She won her first Grammy Award when she was just 19 for the Best New Artist. She also won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album.
