Tom Hardy, who starred in "Legend" and "Mad Max: Fury Road," is coming to the small screen with a eight-episode drama series "Taboo"
According to IGN, "Taboo" will follow James Keziah Delaney played by Tom Hardy who discovers that he has inherited his father's legacy upon returning home after spending 10 years in Africa. The new TV series will debut in FX and BBC One. The show is created by Steven Knight and directed by Kristoffer Nyholm.
According to Coming Soon, "Taboo" has already begun filming in London. The story is set in 1814 London. After inheriting his father's mysterious legacy, Delaney is urged to go up against East India Company, as war falls between Britain and America.
"Taboo" has enlist "House of Cards" actor Michael Kelly to take the role of an American doctor "Dumbarton." "Game of Thrones" actor Jonathan Pryce will also appear in "Taboo" as Sir Stuart Strange, the head of the East India Company and Delaney's rival. David Hayman, who is known for "Macbeth," has been cast as Brace, Delaney's trusted butler. "Game of Thrones'" Oona Chaplin is also joining to cast playing Delaney's half-sister, Zilpha Geary.
According to Deadline, other members of the cast include Jessie Buckley from "Shades of Love." Ashley Walters from "Get Rich Or Die Tryin," Jefferson Hall of "Vikings," Leo Bill of "Alice In Wonderland" and Christopher Fairbank who was The Broker in "Guardians Of The Galaxy." Actors Richard Dixon ("The King's Speech"), Jason Watkins ("The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jefferies") and Nicholas Woodeson ("Rome") will also be making an appearance in the FX/BBC TV series.
The Director of Photography is Mark Patten who's also working on upcoming sci-fi "Morgan" for 20th Century Fox.
"Taboo" is based on an original story by Tom Hardy and his father Chips Hardy. "Taboo" will debut sometime in 2016.
