Marijuana has always been a huge business opportunity for years, and now that it has been recently legalized in many states in the US, some of the biggest celebrities have reportedly jumped into the '420' business.
According to Forbes, some of the music industry's biggest names are using their fame and influence to market the herb. Since they are in the position to promote their own products, why not invest in a sure shot moneymaker?
'Badgirl RiRi' is one of the alleged celebrities who are planning to launch a Maryjane business which she reportedly plans to sell under her own name. Rumors say that the Barbadian beauty plans to sell it in Colorado where the drug has already been legalized. RiRi, who is known for her hit songs 'Diamonds' and 'What's My Name' supposedly used a very witty brand name to her weed line, 'MaRihanna.' The line will carry different kinds of weed including Karibbean Kush, Haitian Haze and Jamaican High Grade, as reported by Forbes. Rihanna's representatives have denied the rumor but according to reports, the pop star has made an announcement in a recent pro-marijuana event in Jamaica that she will indeed launch such business.
Hiphop icon and self-confessed weed loving artist Snoop Dogg is said to open two marijuana centered businesses. Last October, Snoop announced a media property that deals with all kinds of marijuana-related stuff. Now, the 44-year-old rapper uncovered his plans to launch a marijuana brand under the name 'Leafs by Snoop,' which will sell the herb itself along with other weed-related items.
Singer and songwriter Willie Nelson has always been vocal of his love for the drug. Just this year, the artist announced that he is planning to sell marijuana in his own branded brick and mortar stores. Willie's Reserve is Nelson's own brand and he has revealed that it would soon be available in states where weed has been legalized.
