Who knew being in the adult film industry would have its benefits? Real estate broker and "Million Dollar Listing" star Fredrik Eklund shared that being a former porn star might have just boosted his career as a real estate pro.
In an interview with the Huffington Post, he shared that his past hadn't hurt his business at all -- especially with the fact that he never hid it from his prospective clients. He said "going back 13 years ago when I came to New York ... [there're] 32,000 real estate agents. Did it make me more memorable? [People were saying], "Oh, that guy is so good and he's so crazy and used to do porn.'" He said that he got more attention because of his porn star past, but people actually applauded him for it, rather than shunning him.
Eklund mentioned that having a porn background gave him an edge, because clients were curious about who he was as a person. He has proven to be a very effective real estate broker as he has already sold almost $1 billion worth of properties throughout his real estate career.
The reality TV star and real estate power broker has come a long way. It was recently announced that he is set to host a radio show on SiriusXM. A press release posted by PR News Wire indicated that the Bravo TV star will be sharing his expertise on real estate with a comedic twist. SiriusXM's president Scott Greenstein is excited to have Eklund on board. He said "with his new show on SiriusXM, listeners can expect to get a taste of his infectious personality, blended with his passion for sales, marketing, and building trusting relationships in business and in life. Along with his brother Sigge, a pop-culture whiz, listeners can expect to hear lots of anecdotal stories, laughs and cha-chings."
"Buying and Selling" on SiriusXM has started airing last November 20.
