"No Reservations" host Anthony Bourdain insisted that his comments about "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" star Guy Fieri are just jokes and are not meant to be taken seriously.
Rockstar chef and "Parts Unknown" host Bourdain downplayed his making fun of Fieri in his shows as jokes that he believes most of his fans and critics should be used to by now. According to E! Online, Bourdain insists that all his comments that have Fieri all fired up are nothing but jokes. He said, "I tell jokes about people sometimes, but if you can't tell jokes about Guy Fieri, comedy as we know it is dead."
The feud between the two TV stars started off early in the month when Fieri was asked to comment about the digs and jokes Bourdain says in his shows about him. Fieri said, "It's actually disappointing...I don't like him making fun of people, and I don't like him talking s--t. And he's never talked s--t to my face."
In a post by Fox News, Fieri's sentiments against Bourdain has its roots in the well-documented criticisms that "The Layover" host has been dishing in his shows. In July, Bourdain made fun of Fieri and said to his audience at the time, "He's 52 years old (Fieri is 47) and still rolling around in the flame outfit...What does he do? How does Guy Fieri de-douche?"
And the take down of Fieri is not recent at all. Bourdain called Fieri's restaurant Guy's American Kitchen and Bar that opened in 2012 in New York the "terror-dome." And in 2011, to add insult to injury, when Fieri reported his Lamborghini stolen, Bourdain went on to tweet that it was Fieri himself who took the car. Bourdain's attacks are not only thrown against Fieri but also other celebrity chefs like Paula Deen and Ina Garten.
