Joe Cocker lists Colorado ‘Mad Dog Ranch’ for $7 million

Joe Cocker, the famous veteran rock musician has reportedly listed his "Mad Dog Ranch" in Crawford, Colo., for $7 million.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the 240-acre estate has served as Cocker's primary residence since the early 1990s. Cocker and his wife Pam purchased the land back in 1992 for $250,000 and named it the "Mad Dog Ranch" after the British rocker's 1970 tour "Mad Dogs and Englishmen."

"The original plan was to build something small, just a place to go in the winter. But we just fell in love with this place and made it our permanent residence," Pam told the Journal.

The couple sold their Santa Barbara home in 1994 to move completely into the "Mad Dog Ranch," but are now selling because they want to move to a smaller place. They reportedly own a piece of land across the ranch and plan on building a new home there.

Joshua Saslove and Tommy Latousek of Joshua & Co. represent the listing, along with Robert Pennetta of Coldwell Banker Colorado Realty.

According to records, the property is laden with amenities like irrigated pastures, barns, a pond and 5 acres of fenced gardens. The property has a main house that spans an area of 15,873 square feet. The residence is comprised of seven bedrooms and six full and three half bathrooms.

Interiors of the house feature French windows and doors, marble fireplaces, hardwood flooring and drywall ceilings. The home has a music room, a gourmet kitchen, a library, a sun room and a billiards room, where Cocker used to hold tournaments for the neighbors.

The listing describes the place as "a tranquil 243+/- acres of rolling, irrigated meadows, towering aspens and vibrant English gardens sitting in the shadow of the dramatic, volcanic Needle Rock near Crawford, CO. At the heart of this lush mountain oasis is the Cocker's 15,873-square-foot European style residence."

Cocker has lived in the United States for about four decades.

"I've been living in the States so long that I thought about becoming a U.S. citizen. But I'd have to renounce my allegiance to the Queen. As a proud Englishman, I don't think I could do that," Cocker told the Daily Mail in an interview.

Cocker and Pam also own a condo in the Four Seasons Private Residence Tower in Denver.
