Is Kate Middleton under attack again?
It has been reported that Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, may have mocked Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, for her lack of business experience and a non-existent employment history before she married Prince William, an article on CelebDirtyLaundry.com stated.
During a speech in New York City at the 100 Women in Hedge Funds dinner in Cipriani's, Sophie mentioned that "I am rare because I am one of the few ladies in the British Royal Family who has had a professional business career and their own company."
People who had the chance to hear the speech of Countess Sophie, the Global Ambassador for the 100WHF, agreed that this may have been a direct and to the point attack on Kate. The Duchess was known to have a 'spotty' employment history before she married the Prince.
But mocking Kate's inexperience may not be a smart move for the Countess. She may have forgotten the outcome of her public relations firm which failed miserably. There were even reports way back in 2001 that revealed Sophie trying to use her royal connections to gain clientele. A newspaper set-up exposed the attempts of the Countess. Also during that time, Sophie was already on fire for saying disrespectful words about then Prime Minister Tony Blair and the late Princess Diana.
Queen Elizabeth still considers Sophie a very valuable asset to the Royal Family despite her scandals and even enjoy a close relationship with her. Reports say that Sophie intends to drive a larger wedge between the Duchess and the Queen in order to gain her Highness' favor. However, Kate is the wife of the second-in-line to the throne, Sophie Wessex may need to reconsider her actions. At some point in the future, she may need to have Queen Kate in her corner!
