‘Rainbow Six Siege’ Gameplay: Ubisoft Says Game’s Open Beta Delayed, Cites Matchmaking And Disconnection Issues

Game developer Ubisoft said that "Rainbox Six Siege" open beta's start date will be postponed. This is after the company has encountered technical glitches shortly before the game was supposed to go live on Wednesday. The company has issued a notice of the delay to inform the avid fans and players about the unexpected scenario, a report from iDigital Times said.

"We're currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms. As such we're postponing the Open Beta until a later time and keeping the game under Closed Beta status. We apologize for the delay and can assure you this is our top priority. We will keep everyone updated regularly as we continue to deploy improvements, said community manager Jax as quoted on the Ubisoft forum.

According to the report, the game is expected to be launched in PC, Xbox One and PlayStation next week, specifically on Dec. 1. It was previously reported that the "Rainbow Six Siege" open beta will feature three new maps namely: "House, Hereford, and Kanal." Aside from these are three game modes which will include "two PvP modes titled 'Bomb' and 'Secure Area,' along with a PvE mode titled 'Disarm Bomb' in which 1 to 5 players are tasked to eliminate a terrorist unit."

But despite the technical glitch discovered in the game, Ubisoft has assured the fans that the game's open beta will be launched without any bugs. "This Open Beta will ensure the cleanest launch possible. Keep in mind that this beta is intended for this exact reason: find problems and troubleshoot them to ensure the most stable launch possible," stated Jax.

"Normally, this wouldn't be much of an issue, but the full retail version of Rainbow Six Siege releases on December 1 -- just six days from now. These snags don't exactly inspire confidence in a smooth launch for the multiplayer-only title," Destructoid said.
