Jimmy Fallon, the newly anointed host of "The Tonight Show," has reportedly purchased a neighboring unit in the 34 Gramercy Park East building in New York City where he already owns a duplex.
Though listing records at StreetEasy show that the residence asked $1.57 million, the Zillow blog is reporting that the place was asking $1.35 million. The official listing at Warburg Realty did not disclose the price.
Judith B. Thorn was the listing agent.
Fallon's new purchase is located right above his duplex in the building. The listing indicates that the home needs some work. Agent Thorn told Forbes that Fallon will be renovating the place to connect it to his duplex and maybe turn it into a triplex unit.
According to the listing records, the residence is a four-bedroom, one-bathroom unit with a total of seven rooms. While the listing did not indicate the square footage, it did give us a peek into the floor plans of the place.
The entrance opens into a hallway with three bedrooms and a big storage room on the right along with a bedroom and a detached bathroom to the right. The hallway opens into a giant living room that appears to have an open kitchen and a separate dining area as well.
"Beautiful landmarked prewar doorman building on Gramercy Park, top floor apartment, with three large sunny skylights," the listing reads.
According to a 2006 article in The New York Times, the TV host purchased a unit in 34 Gramercy Park East, the oldest surviving co-op in the city, for $850,000 in 2002. In 2004, Fallon's neighbor, who lived across the hall, died and he purchased that unit for $1.5 million. He put both condos up for sale for a combined price of $3.75 million in 2006.
Fallon also owns a vacation retreat in Sagaponack, N.Y., which he purchased in 2011. Take a look at the property here.
Fallon was recently voted the "Most Desirable Celebrity Neighbor," according to Zillow's seventh annual Zillow Celebrity Neighbor Survey.
