Porsche was sued by Paul Walker's father for negligence and wrongful death after the "Fast & Furious" star died from fatal car crash in November 2013.
Walker's father filed charges against Porsche claiming that the safety features of Carrera GT, the car that Paul Walker was riding during the accident, were insufficient.
According to ABC News, the lawsuit cites the car's safety features that the complainant claimed could have spared Walker from death, including side-door reinforcements, a stability control system, and a breakaway fuel line that would prevent the car from bursting into flames after a collision.
The actor died while on a break from filming "Fast & Furious 7," the latest installment of a hit franchise that revolves around cars and car racing. Roger Rodas, Walker's friend and business associate, was driving the Porsche Carrera GT when it turned uncontrollably, crashed into three trees, and burst into flames.
Meanwhile, Rodas' widow Kristine Rodas also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche in state court last week. She also has a pending claim against the German auto manufacturer in federal court.
Amid the controversies, Porsche maintained its position and denied in the various lawsuits, including the one filed by Walker's daughter Meadow in September, its responsibility for the "Fast & Furious" actor's death.
In November, Porsche responded to Meadow Walker's lawsuit, saying the actor "knowingly and voluntarily assumed all risk, perils and danger in respect to the use of the subject 2005 Carrera GT, that the perils, risk and dangers were open and obvious and known to him, and that he chose to conduct himself in a manner as to expose himself to such perils, dangers and risks, thus assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle," Entertainment Weekly reported.
The car company also described the deceased star "a knowledgeable and sophisticated user of the 2005 Carrera GT."
Porsche's response was met with criticism from Meadow's lawyer Jeff Milam, who reiterated his claims that the Carrera GT was sold unsafe. "If Porsche had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have survived, he would be filming 'Fast and Furious 8,' and Meadow Walker would have the father she adored," he said in a statement.
No trial is set for the cases yet.
