"Sherlock" superstar Benedict Cumberbatch wants more children with his wife Sophie Hunter.
When Benedict Cumberbatch, who married theatre and opera director Sophie Hunter in February, became a first-time father in June, he has kept mum about it. According to Mirror, he has finally broken his silence on parenthood and speaking of which he wants to have a big family. During an Interview on "The Graham Norton Show", the 39-year-old actor said, "I've become a father and a husband, and in the right order - just! I might go for a Cumber-batch of boys!"
He also said, "It's everything. I have a new life form that needs his father's help in the world and his mother needs a little help once in a while.
"It's what being a parent is about so it's not an excuse to get away from what I am doing, it's what I ought to be doing and after three and half hours of Hamlet I think that's okay."
Mean while, John Depp (Black Mass) regards Cumberbatch as a "real-life brother." They have worked together in Black Mass as siblings James 'Whitey' Bulger and Billy Bulger. BBC News quotes Depp, "He is a beautiful man of exceptional talent. He became like a real-life brother. The set-up we were playing was an unusual one - one brother becomes a politician, the other is king of the underworld. They still meet up for family dinners and church, just from opposing sides. It takes an actor with a lot of ability, like Benedict, to make that credible."
In the meantime, Mavel's "Doctor Strange" is currently filming. The movie that will premiere in theaters late next year stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular sorcerer tasked to save the world from dark forces.
Benedict Cumberbatch interview on BBC's "The Graham Norton Show" airs tonight.
