Walt Disney's home in Palm Desert, Calif., is up for grabs.
Used for weekend retreats by Disney and his close friends, the ranch-style home has been listed by its current owner for $535,000, reports The Press-Enterprise.
Quoting the listing agent Jason Evans of Coldwell Banker Residential, the report says the 2.63-acre property is located in the gated community of Royal Corrizo Estates and lies off Highway 74.
According to the listing on Zillow, the remote desert retreat includes one bedroom and one full and one half bathrooms and is located at an elevation of 3,000 feet. Tucked in the hillside rocks, the home offers 1,440 square feet of living space and features rear glass windows providing views of the Coachella Valley below.
The place was frequented by Disney and his friends in Hollywood, who often drove in convoys to the place, where they partied and slept in sleeping bags under the stars.
After he purchased the property in 1948, Disney remodeled the home in 1970, making renovations and additions, such as the red cabinetry and the installation of a concrete pad and a zipline to enable his friends to whiz through the desert.
Legend has it that several ideas regarding new additions at his theme park Disneyland occurred to Disney while he participated in trail rides and "lawn bowling" here.
The property last sold for $575,000 in December 2005.
