Mike Dunleavy Sr., a retired professional basketball player and former head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, has sold his luxury apartment in the posh Century City, Los Angeles, for $6.95 million, reports Realtor.
Located on the fourth floor of the 42-story high-rise at 1 W. Century Drive and spread over 4,660 square feet, the apartment includes four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The master suite is complete with a private deck, a large closet and a spa-like bath. A gourmet kitchen, a living room and a wet bar are included, as are a series of floor-to-glass windows offering views of the city.
In addition to these amenities, Century residents enjoy facilities like outdoor dining rooms with fireplaces, a modern fitness center accompanied by a spa treatment room, a projection room, a private dining room as well as a wine cellar, culture lounge and a 75-foot swimming pool and spa equipped with cabanas.
According to the listing, this townhome, designed by Robert A. M. Stern, was built in 2010 and sits on a 3.71-acre lot. Dunleavy and his wife Emily purchased the property for $4.5 million in fall 2012. The couple listed the apartment for the first time for $7.2 million and slashed its asking price last April to $6,495,000.
The property was listed with Bachir Oueida of Los Angeles Real Estate.
Sixty-year-old Dunleavy was the head coach of the Clippers from 2003 to 2010, when he retired. However, he chose to remain with the organization in the capacity of its general manager, but was ultimately released at the end of the NBA season.
A former professional basketball player, Dunleavy served in an investment firm for two years before taking up his first coaching assignment as the assistant coach for the Bucks. He became the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1990. His son, Mike Dunleavy, Jr., is also a professional basketball player.
