'The Good Dinosaur' Movie Desperately Disappoints Fans; Plot Borrowed From 'The Lion King?'

"The Good Dinosaur" movie released by Pixar desperately disappointed fans and is considered unoriginal, critics said.

The Guardian reported that the said movie released by Pixar is exactly the same as "the kind of creative cul-de-sac we'd been afraid of before IO [Inside Out]."

Although, Pixar has been acclaimed to produce the year's best films -- all passionate, sophisticated and beguiling -- this sounded different to "The Good Dinosaur."

Based from the movie reviews, this is premised on a "what-if" idea. From the opening sequence of the film, it was said to be funny because the meteor, which is supposed to wipe out the dinosaurs "bypasses the planet."

When the dinosaurs reached the planet, they stayed with the humans. So, from the film, the audience could see that the dinosaurs are helping them by tending their farms and of course, they are talking.

"It's not clear [on dinosaurs' ability to talk] if this is an evolutionary development or the usual Disney anthropomorphisation," a source said.

Another disappointing fact about "The Good Dinosaur" is the borrowed stories from the legendary "The Lion King" and "The Jungle Book." It has some "ingredients" from "Ice Age" and "The Croods."

Forbes stated that the film had a fun premise like what the previous report stated, "What if the asteroid that destroyed the dinosaurs missed? Who would walk the Earth?"

Cosmologist Neil deGrasse Tyson said for the film's promotional video, "Had they gotten much bigger, you become a much bigger meal for the carnivorous dinosaurs that were ruling the Earth. So what you really have to do is remove the dinosaurs from the ecosystem."

Although "The Good Dinosaur" is a great movie since it is literally looking great, it is not the kind of league the audience expected from the movie itself since they were somehow "out" in terms of the real evolution process that happened with the existence of mammals at the end of the Cretaceous Period and the extinction of the dinosaurs at that time.

"If the dinosaurs were localized to one land mass, and we had our mammal ancestors on another land mass, it's possible you have dinosaurs continuing then mammals evolving to become humans," Tyson described.

"The Good Dinosaur" is a story of an Apatosaurus who met his human friend named Arlo (voiced by Raymond Ochoa) who is enduring a terrible catastrophe.

"The Good Dinosaur" was initially released in the US last November 25 under Pixar. The film is directed by Peter Sohn.
