With a solid line-up this season, the fans of Los Angeles Clippers are betting on their team to enter the finals. After acquiring some key players like the veteran Paul Pierce and relatively young talents, Lance Stephenson, Josh Smith, Wesley Johnson, it seems like all road leads to victory for the team.
However, with their current 7 wins and 8 losses in the Western conference rankings, fans and experts alike now doubt the synergy of the team. With this current standing and team performance, it cannot be helped the rumors of restructuring the roster would surface. Yibada reported that Clippers head coach Doc Rivers via grantland stated that "that the team is right on the borderline of resetting its roster, even saying that he is a believer that teams can get stale".
Now there are no hints on who exactly would be the players that would be shipped out from the line-up if Clippers would indeed go with the reshuffling. Malcolm Hyde of Yibada opined that;
"The Clippers would send DeAndre Jordan to the Boston Celtics and Stephenson and Smith to the Sixers.For Boston, they would give up Tyler Zeller to the Kings Jared Sullinger and the 2016 Brooklyn Nets pick to the Sixers.The Sixers would give up Nerlens Noel and Robert Covington to the Clippers.It will be tough for them to give up DeAndre, but they will get Noel (who could develop to be DeAndre) as well as Tyler Zeller and Robert Covington to give them youth and depth."
If such prediction would indeed come true, then there is no need to worry for the duo of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul. However, with the absence of DeAndre in the line-up, the Clippers big three would never be the same again. It would take much time for the new players to adjust with the kind of play that the Clippers had been doing inside the court. However, such change would likewise be an opportunity for other players and the coach to explore other angle with the presence of possible new teammates.
Still we would have to wait for the time that Clippers would announce the probable reorganization of their roster as also imagined by their head coach.
