Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher unload Ottawa home for $1.95 million

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher, a professional ice hockey player, have just sold their home in West Carleton, Ottawa, for $1.95 million to a buyer from Kingston, reports Ottawa Citizen.

Built in 2010, the home sits on an 11-acre wooded lot and includes five bedrooms, a chef's kitchen, three fireplaces, a wine cellar, home theater, wet bar and a home gym. The home is complete with an enclosed porch with a fireplace.

Surrounded by trees and protected by a gated driveway, the residence offers a high degree of privacy and is a 10-minute drive from the Canadian Tire Center, where the Ottawa Senators play.

The couple listed the property last spring for $2.2 million soon after the Ottawa Senators traded Fisher to Nashville Predators. They cut the price to $1.95 million in November. The property was listed with Paul Rushforth Real Estate.

Initially, the couple found it difficult to unload the property, as the real estate market in Ottawa is experiencing a slowdown. However, the home got a boost when TopTenRealEstate ranked the home as No. 5 on the Top 10 celebrity homes for sale last year.

Other homes featured on the list included those belonging to Reese Witherspoon, Matt Damon, Bob Newhart, Sheryl Crow and Howie Mandel. Among all the homes on the list, the home owned by Underwood and Fisher was the least expensive, with the price of the others ranging from $5 million to $5.8 million.

A recent report in the National Enquirer claimed that 30-year-old Underwood and 33-year-old Fisher were heading for a split, as their dissimilar schedules have been keeping them apart.

The couple met at the signer's Ottawa concert in 2008 and were engaged a year later. They tied the knot in July 2010.
