"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" star Shailene Woodley recently said that she's happy she didn't take on the role of Anastasia Steele on "Fifty Shades of Grey."
According to Gossip Cop, Woodley was tapped to audition for the role of Anastasia, but she declined the offer very early on.
However, when she was asked to audition for the role of Katniss Everdeen on "The Hunger Games," the actress went, but wasn't hired.
"It actually is true. I didn't want to audition for it. It's because I had already done 'Divergent' and I knew there was no way I wanted to do multiple franchises at the same time because that's crazy, so I didn't see the point in it," she said.
Meanwhile, Woodley spoke with Glamour UK, and said that she believes it's not a good idea to have lifted E.L. James books for the big screen.
"I'd read the book and thought, 'If somebody really can pull this off and make a movie out of it, they will be the biggest genius!'" she said.
However, some fans of the "Fifty Shades" franchise slammed Woodley for saying that she doesn't want to star in multiple franchises at the same time.
At one point, Woodley starred in two films that were released one after the other.
In "The Fault In Our Stars," Woodley was also paired with her "Insurgent" co-star Ansel Elgort.
Fans now believe that Woodley just didn't audition for the role because she knows that she cannot be as sultry as Dakota Johnson.
In the film, Johnson plays the role of Anastasia Steele, a naïve woman who falls in love with Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" will be released on Mar. 18, 2016. "Fifty Shades Darker" will be released on Feb. 10, 2017.
