'Skype' News, Reports, Update: 'Skype' For iOS Improved With New Multi Tasking Enhancements

Skype 6.6 was recently released for iOS Skype users and the update focused on helping multi taskers get the best from their Skype activities. Here's what the latest Skype update has brought to its iOS users:

First of all, Skype now allows for you to go back to your current Skype call just by tapping the call banner on top of your screen, wherever you are on your phone. Meaning, you can leave the Skype app even while you're on a call without cutting the call. Just hit the home button and go to Safari, contacts, apps, or anywhere on your phone, and just tap the Skype banner on top if you wanna go back to the Skype interface.

Also, when you are doing a Skype IM chat, you will still be able to get notifications for your other messages. There will be a message counter for your unread messages on top of your every chat thread. Hitting the back button will show you the messages that you have been missing.

Furthermore, Skype now detects phone numbers, dates and addresses mentioned in Skype chats. Any date, phone number, and address will now be highlighted and tapping on them will lead you to a different action. Tapping addresses will launch Apple Maps, tapping phone numbers will lead to a Skype call, and tapping on dates will launch the calendar. Skype will automatically schedule an event using the chat details, speeding things up for you. Furthermore, Skype will include a chat URL in the event note for easier access to the app.

Skype also updated its iOS app to cater to the users of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus who now enjoy the 3D Touch feature. Users of these iOS devices can now press harder on the Skype icon for a quick access to the most used options of the Skype app (i.e. contacts, call, chat, dial pad).
