'Huawei Mate 8' News, Specs, Features: Official 'Huawei Mate 8' Comes With 6 Inch Display And 4000 mAh Battery

After weeks of rumors and teases, Huawei finally launched the Mate 8. Being dubbed as Huawei's 'most advanced' flagship phone, "Huawei Mate 8" is powered by the latest Kirin 950 SoC with octa core processor and Mali T880MP4 GPU. Furthermore with the specs, the company said that the "Huawei Mate 8" also has an i5 processor that supports speech recognition, low power consumption MP3, FLP navigation, sensor hub functions, and power consumption reduction.

As to the phone's physical aspect, the "Huawei Mate 8" has a six inch screen, aerospace-grade aluminum material, 2.5G curved diamond glass and a rear fingerprint sensor. Camera-wise, the "Huawei Mate 8" won't disappoint you as it comes with Sony's latest IMX298 16 MP sensor for its primary camera and an 8 MP one for its selfie snapper.

For the Mate 8's software department, it uses the company's EMUI4.0 OS which is Android Marshmallow based and offers great features including voice controls, eRecovery, power saving firewall, and defragmenter.

If so far these specs amazed you, get this - the "Huawei Mate 8" comes with a massive 4000 mAh battery and 4 GB RAM for its 64 GB and 128 GB variants. Its 32 GB model only has 3 GB RAM, which is still way bigger than what most phones have. Color variants of the "Huawei Mate 8" includes Gold, Silver, Gray, and Brown. For the price, the 32 GB is at $480, the 64 GB is at $590, and the 128 GB is at $700.

The "Huawei Mate 8" is already available in China. Details about its international release will be announced at the CES event on January.

As an early verdict, the "Huawei Mate 8" should mark the 2016 smartphone standards. The 4000 mAh battery is a big innovation for flagships, alongside the 16 MP and 8 MP camera combo.
