"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" swept many of the top honors at the MTV Movie Awards presented at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Besides taking home the coveted Movie of the Year Award, stars Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence bagged the Best Male Performance and Best Female Performance awards, respectively.
Dedicating his award to Philip Seymour Hoffman, Hutcherson said, "I know that if Philip were here, he would really think this is really cool." He added, "To have him in our movies was one of the coolest things in the world. He's one of the actors I've looked up to my entire life. We think about him every day on set. Wherever he is, this definitely goes out to him as well."
The evening started with Jared Leto winning the Best On-Screen Transformation award for his role in "Dallas Buyers Club," which he also won an Oscar for earlier this year.
"The Academy is really prestigious but this is unique because everybody has the right to vote and you get people from all over the world that chime in and say whatever you want to say so it means a lot," Leto said as he accepted the award. "It's nice to be able to get up on stage and to thank people directly."
Will Poulter, who won the BAFTA Rising Star Award 2014, was presented two Golden Popcorn trophies - one for Breakthrough Performance and the second for Best Kiss with Emma Roberts and Jennifer Aniston.
Although it missed an Oscar, "The Wolf of Wall Street" won two awards. While Jonah Hill scored Best Comedic Performance, Leonardo DiCaprio won #WTF Moment for the scene in which Jordan Belfort takes his Lamborghini for a spin.
Hosted by Conan O'Brien, the awards ceremony was aired live on MTV, along with a tribute to Paul Walker, who was named one half of the Best On-screen Duo with Vin Diesel for their roles in Fast & Furious 6.
Other winners included Brad Pitt (World War Z) and Henry Cavill (Man of Steel). In addition, the Backstreet Boys, Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen and Craig Robinson won the Best Musical Moment award, Mila Kunis the Best Villain award and Rihanna the Best Cameo Performance award for her role in "This Is the End."
