Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Update: Launch Surprisingly Came with Note 3 Smartphone; 7.9-Inch Full HD IPS LCD, Quad-Core 2.24 GHz 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z8500, 16GB for $155

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has officially been released.

The Chinese company had a successful press event to officially unveil the Redmi Note 3 smartphone in Nov 24. However, the manufacturer surprised the media by releasing the most-awaited Mi Pad 2 tablet as well.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is equipped with a 7.9-inch Full HD IPS LCD display boasting a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixel and 326 ppi pixel density. It flaunts a full metal body, making it more sleek and classy than ever. Weighing 322 grams, this device is undoubtedly lighter and thinner than its predecessor, the original Mi Pad, Vine Report reported.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is also powered by a quad-core 2.24 GHz 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor. This tablet offers 2GB of RAM and comes with two options for internal storage, 16GB or 64GB.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 also features an 8 megapixel rear camera equipped with LED flash, and 5 megapixel front-facing snapper, allowing you to capture crystal clear and well-saturated photos as well as record awesome high definition videos.

This Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 runs the Android operating system with MIUI. However, Xiaomi also announced that there is also a soon to be released Mi Pad 2 that will run the Windows 10 operating system. Since the table is powered by an Intel Atom processor, it also means that it has the capability to run the Windows 10 OS. Apart from that, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 also features a unique Reading Mode that eradicates blue light, which usually causes eye-related problems due to its display, PC Mag reported.

The device packs a very impressive 6190 mAh battery with fast charging technology. This battery offers up to 649 hours of standby or a total of 12.5 hours of maximum talk time. Connectivity-wise, it has Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. It also comes with a USB type-C port.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is available in two colors - champagne gold and dark grey. It is reported that this table will go on sale on the Nov. 27 in China. Price tag for the 16GB model is RMB 999 or $155 while the 64GB can be purchased at 1,299 or $209.
