Ellen Page, the actress who plays the "dream architect" in the psychological thriller "Inception," has been recognized as the buyer of Venus Williams' Hollywood Hills West home.
About a month ago, it was widely reported that Venus sold her home in the Los Angeles neighborhood for a loss at $1.7 million. However, the buyer was not identified at the time. According to a recent report in Real Estalker, Page purchased the property through a trust that also bought her starter home in Studio City.
Venus purchased the residence back in 2005 for $1.9 million. She spent considerable time and funds renovating the place in 2007 and 2008. She listed the place for a low $1.7 million in January this year, which surprised many.
"They (Venus and Serena Williams) have numerous properties but they can't live in all of them, so she decided it was time to sell, especially now that the market is stronger again. This property was close to all the Hollywood activities, but she was not using it very much," Christine Taylor of Gibson International, the listing agent who co-represented the home with Coldwell Banker's Rada Roberts, told Zillow.
Listing records of the home state that the residence spans an area of 1,528 square feet. The single-family home is comprised of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Interiors of the home feature beamed ceilings, light hardwood flooring and floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Sitting in a private, gated compound, the home has ample recreation space and a swimming pool.
While Venus has started shedding some real estate only now, Serena sold her Los Angeles condo for $1.8 million in January 2013.
Serena and Venus both currently live in a shared property in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, where each has a wing to herself. The residence is an 8,478-square-foot, six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Page recently grabbed headlines for coming out publicly as gay at the Human Rights Campaign's inaugural "Time To THRIVE" conference in Las Vegas last Valentine's Day. Her emotional speech spurred a standing ovation and she now ranks 29th on OUT magazine's most powerful gay celebrities list.
