If you are too terrified to risk a whole lifetime exploring "No Man's Sky's" universe-wide map, but you can go for "Just Cause 3" which has been confirmed to have a large scale map as well.
Before GameRant has reported that Hello Games' "No Man's Sky" could take 5 billion years to walk around because of its 18 quintillion worlds. "Just Cause 3" map was thought to be the biggest in the history of gaming. As previously revealed, "Just Cause 3" will have a map that will span over 400 square miles in size and the game is reportedly set in the fictional place called Medici, an island that is supposedly located in the Mediterranean.
As the launch date for "Just Cause 3" inches closer, more details are revealed regarding its map. According to Gamespot, the upcoming adventure game's world size is not actually larger than its predecessor, "Just Cause 2" but it is reportedly supposed to look "denser."
According to Gamespot, speaking of the map "Just Cause 3" director Roland Lesterlin said, "Just Cause 2 was already enormous. We really wanted to focus now on density and the feel of the world itself. So we didn't necessarily just have to do increased land mass. But we have certainly gone a lot bigger when it comes to density of the world. And now it's not just on top of the world--we also have caves and tunnels and all sorts of stuff there, too."
While other AAA game developers have invested in multiplayer options, there is a reason "Just Cause 3" still lacks the multiplayer mode. According to GameRant, Avalanche explained that they wanted to concentrate on creating a high-quality single player gameplay. Although the developers have considered adding multiplayer. Lesterlin has told Gamespot, "We did talk about [multiplayer] a lot."
He continued, "The modding community even created a multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 that was super fun, really cool. The same way that Just Cause 2 was known as a beautiful sandbox in a giant open world, and it surprised many people that consoles could even do that, we wanted to have that same experience... with updated physics and player mechanics, and concentrate first and foremost in the main player."
"Just Cause 3" will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Dec. 1.
