Rihanna, the "Diamonds" singer is reportedly renting "The Fortress", an $8 million massive single-family residence in the prestigious Hollywood Hills, sources have confirmed.
News of Rihanna renting the pad first emerged in February 2014. However, the reports were dismissed as rumors. Now, the Real Estalker has confirmed that the Barbadian beauty has moved into the palatial pad.
While some tabloids are reporting that Rihanna purchased the home, listing records show no changes in the status, which means she is probably only renting the place.
The huge 10,369-square-foot home sits on a 0.69-acre lot and is comprised of 7 bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Situated in a gated compound, The Fortress indeed offers high privacy. Designed by AIA startchitect David Lawrence Grey, the home features state-of-the-art interiors and is laden with luxurious amenities like a theater, a separate guest house, an infinity pool and a 12-person spa. A koi-pond and lush gardens are some of its green features. There is a nightclub in the home too!
The home once belonged to DJ Val Kolton, who made some lavish refurbishments to the mansion. The home also hosted several celeb parties and photo-shoots. He sold it in 2012 for $7.12 million
Take a look at the mansion in a video below:
Rihanna moving into "The Fortress" is kind of metaphorical because she has been facing privacy issues in her Pacific Palisades home, which is now up for grabs for $14.99 million. Rihanna set property headlines on fire when she purchased the residence for $12 million in 2012, though she hardly ever lived in the place after she bought it. Several burglary and trespassing incidents were also reported during the time Rihanna owned the house.
Rihanna also recently purchased a mansion in Barbados. According to Contactmusic.com, she is finishing up the $9.6 million renovation work on her waterfront home, having added three themed bars and a nightclub to the house.
Rihanna recently spent her birthday in the snow-clad hills of Aspen, Colo. Check out her party pad here.
More recently, there were reports of Rihanna and rapper Drake moving in together and sharing a place in Los Angeles. Could the "Fortress" be their love nest?
"It doesn't really make sense for them to be apart in the same city when they're trying to make sh-t work and get on that level. This is just temporary - a trial run, if you understand. It's convenient for them now and they're trying to taking advantage of that," an insider told Hollywood Life.
Note: An earlier version of the arcticle reported Rihanna was paying $8 million rent for the place. The home is worth $8 million and not the rent. The arcticle has been tweaked to note the change.
