Joel Madden and Nicole Richie list Los Angeles home for $1.87 million

Joel Madden, the frontman of American rock band "Good Charlotte" and his designer wife Nicole Richie have put their home in Glendale, Los Angeles, up for sale asking $1.87 million.

Madden and Richie purchased the home in November 2004 for $1.8 million. In 2011, the residence was also offered for rent at 45,950 per month, according to Realtor.com.

Madden and Richie moved to their Laurel Canyon home soon after they had their daughter Harlow. Madden was overwhelmed when the baby came. Talking about how becoming a father changed his life, he told MTV:

"Being a father is nothing you can plan for. You've got to take it one day at a time, and there's no manual or anything like that," Madden told MTV News. "It's not a conscious change, it just happens to you all of a sudden. We had Harlow, and suddenly our priorities changed. We've both done a lot in our lives, had a lot of fun, but now it's time to be parents, which is a different kind of fun. The priority is our daughter and the kind of family we build around her."

The residence featured on MTV Cribs too.

Listing records of the home state that the residence is a 4,718-square-foot, single-family house comprised of four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Built in 1930, the renovated house sits on a 0.38-acre lot. Interiors feature hardwood flooring, glass windows and drywall ceilings. Outside, the home has a garden with a fountain.

Last year, Joel's brother Benji purchased a $1.1 million home in the Hollywood Hills area of Los Angeles. The residence spreads across an area of 2,183 square feet and consists of three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Sitting on a 25,000 square-foot-lot in the Canyon hills region, the home looks like a "tree-house" because it literally sports hardwood everywhere, right from floors and beams to dressers and cabinets.
