Did Derek Hough Just Say He’s Quitting ‘Dancing With the Stars?’

Is Derek Hough quitting "Dancing With The Stars" after banging six mirrorball trophies and two Emmy wins? On Tuesday, he received the latest DWTS mirrorball award with Bindi Irwin. It was Hough's sixth award over 16 seasons.

In an interview with E! News,  Hough, 30, seemed to have given a clue that he's finally saying goodbye to the popular American dance competition. When asked if he would be returning for DWTS' season 22, the dancer-choreographer sparked rumors that he might leave the show. The next season has a set date to start on March 21.

"I don't know, who knows," Hough replied when asked if he would be returning for season 22. "I have to say this isn't a bad way to go out."

Hough had been vocal in expressing his fondness with his partner, Irwin. He claimed that the 17-year-old Australian dancer had made him feel new and inspired in the show.  Star Pulse reports that there could be a chance that Hough will be returning for the next season if he gets the opportunity to pick his dancing partner. However, the site claimed that it would be impossible since it would be against the show's rules.

Showrunner Rob Wade earlier revealed that decision was hard for Hough. "It was tough for him. We had a real heart to heart. It wasn't an easy decision and it was difficult because I feel like, if not a father, a bit of an uncle to these guys and he was struggling with it so much," Wade said.

Meanwhile, as Hough is said to be having second thoughts whether to return or not for the next season, Len Goodman, confirmed on Tuesday's finale that he's coming back for season 22, Enstarz reports. Goodman will be reunited with the panel of judges again that include Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli.

DWTS season 22 premieres on March 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Do you think Hough will return for the upcoming season?
