Guests can meet Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, including Clarice, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster and Yukon Cornelius in a magical area called "Rudolph’s Holly Jolly Junction." Families can also enjoy activities like decorating Christmas cookies at Clarice’s kitchen, play reindeer games.
With that, Dollywood received this year's Amusement Today Golden Ticket Award for Best Christmas Event for the eighth consecutive time. Meanwhile, it also received the seventh consecutive Golden Ticket Award for Best Shows because of its holographic entertainment.
With four million dazzling lights, the place is also popular for its special adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" where seen original songs of Dolly Parton were written in order to transform the classic play into an exciting stage performance that people wants to see every time they visit Dollywood. The show uses holographic technology which brings a life size hologram of Dolly Parton and other casts to the stage.
“I’m so proud of the work everyone puts in to making Christmas such a special time for families at my Dollywood,” said Dolly Parton, Local8 Now reported. “They start putting up Christmas lights in July! It’s so beautiful and truly is the most special time of year to visit. Our entertainment team does an amazing job with all of the great shows they perform at Christmas. Why I hear they’re even going to bring back the hologram version of me one more time so you can see ‘the other Dolly’ remind ol’ Scrooge what Christmas is all about!”
The Dollywood theme park was a growing empire as it added a resort and a hotel to its theme and water parks which is a Dolly-themed place. Parton invested $300 million for the project which is a dream come true for the actress. Part of her vision was to provide jobs for the people in Tennessee.
Now, Dollywood is the most visited tourist destination in the area and received more than two million visitors in a year. Parton also never forgets her faith and credits her success to God saying, "I pray every day that God will put all the right things, all the right people and the right projects in my life and to take all the wrong things and the wrong people out, and I really pray and believe that he does so I have to swallow my pride and take those things as answers," CNBC reported.
