Bindi Irwin and her boyfriend Chandler Powell, are still young, but they are already facing serious wedding rumors. Bindi recently arrived in Australia after winning the "Dancing With The Stars" mirrorball award and has finally spoken to put the wedding controversies to rest.
Irwin, 17, and her boyfriend, Powell, 19, have been plagued with rumors that they are planning to tie the knot in Oregon, where her parents wed for "sentimental" and "practical" reasons. According to some reports, the young couple is looking forward to their wedding, which is set for June 4, the same date that Bindi's parents, Terri and Steve, tied the knot in Oregon in 1992. A source claimed that Oregon is a state where a 17-year-old can legally marry, so the couple is reportedly planning the ceremony there.
While addressing the wedding rumors with Daily Mail Australia, the young conservationist said, "It's not true. There's been no proposal."
Irwin and her boyfriend, a professional wakeboarder, went public with their romance this year. In another interview with 9 News, the "Bindi The Jungle Girl" star claimed that she's still enjoying her life at the moment and said that getting married at an early age is far from her mind.
"That is hilarious," Bindi said. "That is the funniest thing I have heard in my life. Nope, nope, pretty much just 17 and having fun being young and living life and that's completely not true."
Meanwhile, Irwin, who won the Mirrorball Trophy and AU$322,000 in last week's "Dancing with The Stars" gushed about her experience in joining the coveted dance competition in the U.S. The 17-year-old claimed that it was an "incredible journey" and it's like she had just woken up from an incredible dream. After her win, she's now back in reprising her role in "Wildlife Warriors," a non-profit charity that is designed to help preserve, protect and care for wildlife and habitats.
