Broken friendships and allies turning against each other probably mean more viewers, as the trailer of Captain America: Civil War has garnered 61 million views worldwide in just 24 hours after its release.
'Civil War' trailer was first shown on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night and it was introduced by no less than 'Captain America' Chris Evans and 'Iron Man' Robert Downey Jr. The teaser video has set a record of having the most number of views within 24 hours of its release, among all the films in the Marvel Cinematic World. It is almost twice the previous record holder which was 2014's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron.' Millions of fans were thrilled to finally see the preview of the highly anticipated superhero movie where the two allies fight for opposite sides.
The cast also includes previous Avengers members; Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch.
Spider-Man will also join the said Marvel movie, to be portrayed by 19-year-old Tom Holland. In an interview with Superhero Hype, Civil War's Peter Parker teased fans of his character in the film. "I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he's the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is. I think it's quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask," Holland shared, This causes speculations to surface that since Peter wants to continue hiding behind a mask, then he probably might oppose the superhero registration act which is the point of conflict in the plot to begin with. Many fans are now speculating that he will side with Captain America.
Captain America: Civil War will hit the theaters on May 6, 2016.
