After checking into a rehabilitation facility for postpartum depression last month, Nashville actress Hayden Panettiere surprised everyone when she made an unscheduled appearance in her fiancé's boxing match at the Heavyweight World Championship held in Dusseldorf, Germany.
An insider told US Weekly that the 26-year-old actress has already settled back into her home which she shares with boxer Wladimir Klitschko and their 11-month-old daughter Kaya who was born in December 2014.
"She's doing great!" the insider revealed. "She's doing really good now." The same source also added that Panettiere was excited to be at her fiancé's fight and will be spending more time with him and their baby over the holidays as Nashville will resume filming in January 2016.
Panettiere's character in the ABC series, Juliette Barnes, is also suffering with postpartum depression. However, this detail is purely coincidental because the script for Nashville was written way before the actress revealed her personal struggle.
Last month, she talked on the show Live! With Kelly and Michael and opened up about how she can relate to her on-screen character.
"I can very much relate. It's something a lot of women experience. When [you're told] about postpartum depression, you think it's 'I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child.' I've never ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don't realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on," Panettiere said.
She added that postpartum depression is "something that needs to be talked about." "Women need to know that they're not alone, and that it does heal," the actress pointed out.
In a statement issued to US Weekly last October 13, the actress volunteered to seek help for her diagnosis. She also took a medical leave from Nashville to spend time at the rehabilitation facility.
