Leonardo DiCaprio, the "Wolf of Wall Street" has reportedly bought a $10 million apartment in the Delos Building at 66 East 11th Street, an ultra-lux, boutique residential development in Greenwich Village, New York City.
News of the buy had hit media in November last year. However, no specifications about the home were available. But now, the New York Post is reporting that the "Inception" actor has snagged a two bedroom and two and a half bathroom condo located on the fourth floor of the building.
While the home was listed for $10 million, details about how much DiCaprio paid are yet to be revealed. He reportedly paid for the home via the Malibu Colony PCH Property LLC, the same trust that purchased the Dinah Shore estate in Palm Springs in February.
The Delos building is touting itself as the first WELL-certified building. The WELL standard is "the world's first building standard focused exclusively on enhancing people's health and well-being in direct, tangible ways," according to the Delos official website.
Exclusive features in the building include more than fifty built-in wellness amenities like purified air and water, vitamin C-infused showers, posture-supportive flooring, a personal kitchen herbarium and lighting to match one's 'circadian rhythm'.
"The simplest way to understand what this home is capable of doing is to think of it like a 24-hour carwash that works on the human body," Paul D. Scialla, co-founder and the managing partner of Delos told the New York Times in an earlier interview.
But DiCaprio doesn't just get to enjoy all the exquisite amenities but also gets to use the $1 million parking space, the first with that price tag, in another penthouse unit until the residence sells. Perks of being a star!
That's not just it. It was also reported earlier that DiCaprio has joined the board of authorities of the building. Curbed has more intel on the amenities.
More recently, DiCaprio purchased an $8 million unit adjacent to his existing $4 million condo in the 2 River Terrace building, which is another eco-friendly tower in Battery Park overlooking the Hudson River, reports The Real Deal. He purchased the home from neighbors Steven Gidumal and Allison Keeley.
DiCaprio sold off his Malibu residence for $17.5 million in December last year.
