‘Simpsons’ voice Hank Azaria buys $9.2 million New York City co-op

Hank Azaria, the man who lends his voice to several characters in the "Simpson" like Apu Nahasapeemapetilon and Moe Szyslak among others, has reportedly dropped $9.2 million on a co-op residence in New York City.

Azaria purchased the Upper West Side condo under the Henry Albert Azaria Trust, a trust named after him. He told the New York Observer that he was renting a home with his family on 80th Street after he sold off his previous co-op at 84 Mercer Street for $8 million last year. The family will now move to the new house.

Azaria's new pad is just across Central Park and provides ample views of the area, about 63 feet of the Western front. The home has a total of nine rooms - four bedrooms and four full and one half bathroom.

Floor plans of the house show the entrance opening into a spacious gallery, which leads to a library. The living room is to the right of the library, while the master bedroom sits on the left. Behind the gallery is an office/ den and an additional bedroom sits right next to it.

The dining room, another bedroom and the kitchen, with eat-in space, take up the entire left wing of the house. Interiors of the home feature hardwood flooring, beamed and drywall ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The listing claims that the place, "offers expansive entertaining space" and is "light -filled." The elevator opens directly into the gallery!

While Azaria shot to fame with his Simpsons stint, he featured in a cameo role in the hit sitcom "Friends." He played Phoebe's scientist boyfriend David in the series. However, Azaria wanted Joey's character and reportedly auditioned twice for the role!

"That's the only job I ever auditioned for twice. I thought it was so good -- they had rejected me once - I said, 'I'm going back, I'm gonna do it again, I'm gonna try it again'," Azaria told HuffPost Live.
