Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa took to Instagram to share a sweet message for her husband on his retirement.
Vanessa has already made her Instagram account private but several sources like Hello! and People were able to copy the caption she wrote about her husband's impressive basketball career.
She wrote, "You can walk away knowing you've always played with everything you have, babe. I'm so proud of you. I'm proud of everything you've given to all your fans even when you weren't feeling your best."
She continued, "You've always pushed through it because you played for those fans who sacrificed so much to see you play in person. You mean so much to us all. I'm so excited to see what God has in store for us as a family now that one chapter is closing and new ones are opening. We love you!"
Now that the basketball legend has retired, he has more time to spend with his family. Vanessa and Kobe were married in 2001 and now have two daughters together, 12-year-old Natalia and 9-year-old Gianna.
Aside from Vanessa, other celebrities also expressed their sentiments about Kobe's retirement. On her Twitter account, Gigi Hadid also wrote, "Bittersweet! @KobeBryant feels like home to anyone who grew up a @Lakers fan. All good things must come to an end. Love the Bryant family."
Even fellow NBA stars commented on Kobe's decision. Scottie Pippen posted, "Hard to believe @kobebryant is finally going to hang it up. One of NBA's great champions. Enjoy the rest of this season my friend."
Pau Gasol also extended his gratitude to Kobe who, on his tweet, he addressed as "brother." "We have lived incredible moments together on and off the court. Thanks for everything brother! @kobebryant #ThankYouKobe," Gasol wrote.
Kobe announced his retirement last Monday, November 30.
