'Pokken Tournament' Update: Releasing on Wii U in Spring 2016; New Characters To Be Unveiled on Dec. 10

More iconic characters are making their way to the hit "Pokken Tournament."

A Twitter announcement has surfaced on the game's official Twitter account, proclaiming that another playable fighter and a new support character will be added to Bandai Namco's Pokémon arcade fighting game. The Twitter post was in Japanese but with help from Google Translate, you will see that the said character will be unveiled on December 10.

For those who are not in the loop, "Pokken Tournament" is a fighting game from Bandai Namco Entertainment that combines "Tekken" gameplay essentials and characters from the Pokémon franchise. "Pokken Tournament" is currently available on Japanese arcades, but the title will be released on Wii U in Spring 2016 worldwide.

Currently, only ten characters, Lucario, Machamp, Suicune, Gardevoir, Pikachu, Gengar, Weavile, Charizard, Blaziken, and Pikachu Libre are confirmed playable. On the other hand, Emolga, Fennekin, Snivy, Frogadier, Eevee, Lapras, Whimsicott, Jirachi, Mismagius, and Ninetales are confirmed as confirmed supports.

As previously reported, a new meaner-looking form of Mewtwo, known as "Shadow Mewtwo"Shadow Mewtwo, was added as the new boss to battle in "Pokken Tournament." The announcement came with a footage of the boss fight with Mewtwo. Here is the video of the gameplay is from TrackerTDGaming YouTube account, showing that Shadow Mewtwo beaten by Gengar, the round purple ghost-type Pokémon who happens to be one of the 10 confirmed playable characters.

According to Nintendo Life, first copies of "Pokken Tournament" will be bundled with a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo Card. With the amiibo Card, players can unlock Shadow Mewtwo as a useable character instantly. Without the card players would have to earn him through gameplay.

Which playable Pokémon and support Pokémon would it be? Fans surely can't wait for those December 10 announcements. Rest assured that once "Pokken Tournament" for Wii U is already out it will feature more than 20 playable and support characters combined.
