Ellie Goulding and Dougie Poynter decided to take a break after 2 years of being an item. Though there isn't any third party involved, the couple just wanted to lie low a little bit and check to see if distance would help them work on their relationship.
A source then told Mirror that the couple will be taking a break as their time away from each other is making it hard for them to continually maintain their relationship.
"They are taking a break. Their work commitments have meant they have been spending more and more time away from each other and it has made it difficult to maintain their relationship".
The news website then added that both Dougie and Ellie have been noticeable quiet on both of their social media accounts.
"They've decided to have a temporary break to see if they can work things out. They are both very sad that things have hit a rough patch, but are trying to see if a little distance can help them get through it."
The source then added that:
"Globetrotting can really take its toll on any relationship, but it's especially hard when work regularly demands that both sides have to be away."
It was only a few months back when Daily Mail exclusively reported that Dougie Poynter was planning to propose to his singer girlfriend. The "McBusted" star couldn't seem to stop admiring his girlfriend stating that the pop princess is "beautiful, talented and just incredible." When he was asked if they will soon be taking their relationship to the next level, he then answered with a huge smile on his face stating that: "Well... I don't want to say too much. It would ruin the surprise."
